Envisioning The Future Of Near Technology
trendwatching.com lead designer and technologist Michell Zappa (any relation to Frank?) has designed a great graphic of an overview of emerging new technologies.
He states that ‘Each hub represents an important area of development to which actual technologies (shown as nodes) belong. The center of the map marks where we are today, and the further out points indicate how far into the future each technology is predicted to become mainstream.
The size of the nodes represents their significance. By his own admission it does not include more speculative technologies such as ‘cold fusion, nanotech and quantum computing’, but for all futurists out there it’s definitely worth digesting…
